Laser Tattoo Removal Training — Ink Removal Canada Academy
Learn laser tattoo removal the way working Canadian clinics do it: two days, hands-on with live models, on a four-wavelength picosecond platform — then graduate with a Certificate of Completion and the judgement to treat safely.
Ink Removal Canada Academy is the training arm of InkRemoval.ca — Canada's tattoo removal database. We track 226 clinics across the country; this course teaches the treatment the way the country's working clinics actually do it.
Location: Currently available in Vancouver and Richmond BC
Format: 2 days · small cohorts (max 4) · hands-on with live models
$2,250 + GST — 50% deposit reserves your seat
Why train with the Academy
- Four wavelengths, not one. Most entry courses teach black ink on a single 1064 nm wavelength. You train on a picosecond platform covering 532, 585, 650 and 1064 nm — including the light-blue (585) and green (650) inks that single-wavelength operators have to turn away.
- Real treatments, supervised. Day 2 is hands-on work on live models — consultations, test spots, settings, passes and aftercare — with an experienced working technician beside you.
- Small cohorts. Four trainees maximum. You get machine time and feedback, not a seat in a lecture hall.
- Honest credential. You graduate with a Certificate of Completion and the skills to work safely. We will never dress a 2-day course up as a government licence — see the FAQ below.

Before you apply — the honest part
This is private professional training, not a government program. BC does not licence laser tattoo removal operators, and this course does not replace the business licensing, insurance and municipal requirements that apply where you plan to work. Training also does not guarantee results or income — removal is a skill business, and your outcomes will depend on your equipment, your judgement and your clients. What we can promise: you will leave knowing how treatment works, how to do it safely, and when to say no to a client.
Apply for training
Fill out the application below. We review every application personally and reply with upcoming cohort dates for your preferred city, the deposit details, and answers to anything you ask. Applying does not commit you to anything.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a government certification or licence?
No. Ink Removal Canada Academy is private professional training. Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion from the Academy. British Columbia does not licence laser tattoo removal operators and no provincial accreditation applies to a course like this — anyone marketing a short course as a government licence is misleading you. You will still need your own business licence, insurance and to follow any rules in the municipality where you work.
Do I need experience to take the course?
No prior laser experience is required. The course starts with the science and safety fundamentals before any machine time. It suits new operators, tattoo and PMU artists adding removal services, and medspa or clinic staff who will perform treatments.
Where is the training held?
Training is currently available in Vancouver and Richmond, BC. Cohorts are scheduled when enough applications come in for a location — apply below and tell us your preferred city and timing.
Do I practise on real people?
Yes. Day 2 is supervised hands-on treatment on live models, with conservative settings and test spots first. Models are provided — you do not need to bring your own.
What laser do we train on?
Training is on a picosecond platform covering four wavelengths — 532, 585, 650 and 1064 nm — so you learn colour-specific treatment (including light blue and green inks) the way it is done in a working clinic, not just black-ink theory.
How do I reserve a seat, and what does it cost?
Tuition is $2,250 + GST for the full 2-day course. A 50% deposit reserves your seat in a cohort; the balance is due before Day 1. Cohorts are capped at 4 trainees so every student gets real machine time.
What if I need to reschedule?
With at least 14 days' notice, your deposit can be transferred once to a later cohort. Inside 14 days, deposits are non-refundable because models and studio time are booked around your seat.
